Refugee Law Project

The Refugee Law Project is seeking human rights and legal redress for refugees in Kenya and beyond.

“A refugee has the right to safe asylum. However, international protection comprises more than physical safety. Refugees should receive at least the same rights and basic help as any other foreigner who is a legal resident, including freedom of thought, of movement, and freedom from torture and degrading treatment.” Feb 1, 2002, UNHCR.

If you are in East Africa, and need help or advise please email refugees@voicesofafrica.org and we will forward you to a lawyer who may be able to help or connect with us via Facebook as Refugee Law Project Kenya. We are raising funds to turn the Facebook page into a mobile application and advertise the service in the camps and other places where refugees are living.
