Starting over from Scratch

The last few years have been crazy. What we built in 2021, had disintegrated by 2022. The depression of 2022, led to the solitary reflections of 2023. We were let down by a donor who didn't meet their pledge, so it made us past due on everything, the rent, the domain space and web hosting, our mailbox, paying people has also been a nightmare.

Because we couldn't pay the rent, we lost our space. Without the web hosting, we had no website and thanks to their ridiculous policies, all of my blog posts and content from 20 years of work were lost. The mailbox is a legal requirements that hopefully we will find a solution to today.

We had two options, give up or fight. We admittedly did nothing about it for too long because we felt sad and powerless, but still continued with baby steps. Much may be lost and it may feel like you have hit ground zero in your life and nothing can improve. However, that's never the truth. The truth is that everything is always changing, always becoming new. Everything including you and every cell of your body.

Many people don't understand that in order to shine forth you occasionally have to be really broken, inside and out. The cracks are how the lights get out. So as we go and fix our problems one by one until victory, remember that it's not only OK, not to be OK, it's necessary for your growth.

So here we are headed for the new VOA home in Kwale, the new website coming online and being functional, and sending another polite email about the mailbox. All things in good time.
